ABOUT

Fabricating the unseen connections and correlations that familiar objects hold. My work is a prism separating these groups of objects  and ideas into different interpretations based upon life experiences and  perspectives of viewers. My works combine expressive, rough, textured, colorful, and sense oriented elements to capture synesthetic emotions and ideas. Inviting viewers to draw upon ideas presented and how the space between those ideas interacts with societal, mental, and political themes

To explore this style of work, a multitude of ideas, experiences, emotions are compiled until a common link is found, through the medium of oil-based paints and differing materials turned into  canvases. I am able to achieve this common link through canvas choice, size, texture, color, style, and object choice. Giving these works the ability to construct their own spaces and stand apart from their surroundings.

Biography

Born in Los Angeles California, I have always been an artist throughout my life, taking inspiration from different artists up until college, working in graphite, ink, and acrylic paint. During my time at College of the Canyons (COC) I began to dabble in various mediums but have found a foothold in large-scale oil paintings. Deeply interested in color and mark and their correlations to memory and experience is my current focus in my artistic journey.
